Thirty years ago this was a shop that bought and sold used discs. Here is how it became Evergreen Traders.
Digital World first opened in July of 1994. The plan was simple: buy and sell second-hand digital media.
Since digital media doesn’t wear out, a second-hand disc is worth just as much to the next person. That thought is still the whole business.
Gold, jewellery, electronics, instruments, tools and collateral loans followed. We grew into a full-service pawn shop.
We opened Evergreen Traders — a brand that better describes who we are now.
Our first store outside Fredericton, at 130 Newcastle Blvd.
Our fourth store, at 18 Elmwood Dr.
Fredericton South, Fredericton North, Miramichi and Moncton, still serving the same community.
Two things happen here every day. We give people relief from financial stress through non-recourse collateral loans, and we keep good things moving through the community instead of into landfill. Buying second-hand is the oldest form of recycling there is.
